The Word of Life ministry in the Dominican Republic began with the arrival of Kenneth and Valerie Balootje to San Pedro in December 1994. Their first years were spent getting acquainted with the country – and scouting opportunities to share the gospel with the people.

Now, a team of 4 couples and 4 singles is reaching the country with God’s Word through Bible Clubs, youth and other evangelistic outreaches. Word of Life often joins forces with Score International, bringing sports teams to public schools to compete and to share the gospel. The missionary team operates 3 weeks of camps that attract almost 700 campers each summer.
